Na tarde de sábado (18) foi constatado um arrombamento na igreja de Nossa Senhora do Rosário, no centro de Nova Serrana, e o vandalismo de uma imagem sacra. A polícia registrou o fato e uma investigação deve iniciar nesta semana.

Segundo Daniel Nunes, secretário da associação Irmandade Nossa Senhora do Rosário de Nova Serrana e um dos colaboradores na zeladoria do templo religioso católico, no final da tarde de sábado, ele esteve no local e constatou o arrombamento. No interior da igreja, verificaram-se vidros quebrados, lâmpadas furtadas e a cabeça da imagem de N. Sra. do Rosário quebrada.

Templo em situação precária

Palco de umas das mais tradicionais festas religiosas católicas de Nova Serrana (Festa do Reinado e Celebrações da Quaresma), a praça e a igreja de Nossa Senhora do Rosário sofrem pela falta de manutenção. Segundo apurado por nossa reportagem, há relatos de danos estruturais na capela que podem provocar o desabamento do templo religioso. Além disso, a falta de segurança e iluminação pública adequada nos arredores, facilitam ações delituosas que culminaram, inclusive, com o arrombamento e vandalismo registrado.

Ainda foi apurado que a associação tem um projeto de construir uma nova igreja no local, e analisa junto ao poder público a construção de uma nova praça, revitalizando o espaço religioso e público.
